REVEALING TRUTHS

In the corner of my heart, I feel my emotions  bloom.
The excitement of talking to you again late in the afternoon.
How my heart wonders at how your beats,
At many a time my mind ponders at how your heart feels.

We have travelled our paths apart together,
A friendship such as ours, ill forever treasure.
My heart carries worry at what I don't have,
It sits next to fear and lays Next to sad.

I look at you wear confidence on your shoulder
And see many great memories as we get older.
I hear the angel dance above,
Can you not hear them sing of our love?

How great I imagined us to be,
How strong our seed to our lovely tree.
A tree with soft textured leaves
And I get to imagine all this for free

As I write and write and write
Of all the things that could be or just might,
The fear in my heart gets light
And the knowledge visit me that all will alright.

I worry no more if your heart feels like mine
Whether your mine or hers, ill love you anyway, it's fine.
I don't care if I'm allowed to love you or not,
I won't ignore what's in my heart, it's no fault

Every night I sleep to the same dream
And every morning I wake up to the same reality.
You have me write about you,
And it scares me that you have no clue.

However, when the stars are aligned ill know the time is right,
To share these truths with no fear that yours aren't a like.
So don't worry about me,
I trust that what will be will be

I manifest these emotions unto you to let you know I feel,
Do as you please with this information, but know ill love you still.
No matter the storm, no matter the rain
If we were meant to be, we will meet in that light again.

Though the price of loving you is free,
The price of letting you know is that you might flee.
So I converse with you in a poem first,
Because keeping it hidden inside is beginning to hurt.

For GoGo Joana

You left home to see this earth
Decided to take this journey since birth.
Through the years you've lived, you have cried,
You have loved, you have hurt but you still survived

Your jokes and laughs we will never forget
Your stories and memories, we will always protect.
Our mother, sister, granny our aunt.
You have lived this life very long.

The angels are singing and dancing
"Our sister home, our sister is home"
What more can we ask for?
Then the daughter to be with her father, our Lord.

A blessing it was to have you in our lives,
A blessing it was to see you smile.
When the night comes and you sit up there with the stars,
My heart will acknowledge that you are not that far.

Wear your white robe, see yourself shine and glow
Let the heavens know you're ready to go home.
Though I may not be able to say goodbye,
I know I'll see you again sometime.

Now rest yourself in that place of warmth,
And relax my darling you've made it home*

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometime will
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debt are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life Is queer with it twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learn
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won, had he stuck it out
Don't give up though, the pace may seem slow
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seem to faint and faltering man,
Often the struggled has given up,
When he might have captured the victors cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down
How close he was to the golden crown

Success is failure turned inside out_
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit_
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

TO My Friend*

I'm choking on my tears
But it's really all happiness.
You have helped me face my fears
And overcome my sadness.

Thank you for your strong shoulder,
I call it my tear holder.
Thank you for your humble heart,
It kept mine from falling a part

Thank you for the smiles,
The good times
But man, time flies

May great success come to you
In all that you do
You have left your footprints on my heart
Changed it to red from blue,
Not even done by a few
Yes, only you*

my water was green,
You made it blue.
You shared great possibilities,
You showed me truth

Just wanted to let you know
I'll be thinking of you
And that I LOVE YOU
And HEAVENLY FATHER does too

Angela

What is it about my mother?
It's the heaven in her hello
The way nature compliments her.

I wish I could keep my mothers voice in a jar
And let it out
Whenever I forget what God sounds like.

The sunlight bounces off of her skin
And the moon gets jealous,
Because of the way her heart works

Your glow compliments the day
And you mouth,
Man your mouth makes the cloud insecure

Who else can change a leopards spot?
Who else can turn a devil into an angel?
Who else can make a king out of bastards?
Who else can make a kitchen smell like the Lord is coming for dinner?

Your presence reminds me of all things beautiful
Expensive art in galleries,
Colour of nature,
My Lord and saviour

I have seen you crucified by men's eyes,
But you will still be the sunrise of a nation at war,
You remind me that there are many things to live for
I need you more now than ever, MOM

Love Triangle

I testify to your justification,
I understand.
I placed mysself in your shoes

I turned the table
Now my fork is on the right
And my kknife is on the left

My liquid courage on your opposite
We were opposites attracted.
Our lives were complicated
But we cohabited in the same complication

I thought I had you,
Your mind, your heart, your love
But I was too comfortable in my seat,
That I didn't realize I had sunk in

You had me, cuffed
She had the keys,
And you were head of security
And I was friends with the jury

Still the bars were weak
But you made me want to stay in deep.
You played the judge perfectly
And I the hammer handled well.

How did you do it?
How did you manage,
To move the end to the beginning?

We were more alike,
You and I
The same people
One person

Which answers my question,
And that's why eachother
Is what we could never over come

Pretense (poem)

The pain you brought to me,
Was beyond pain

How could you,
Give me the two red horns
And the burning fork
And toss me in the fire?

While you wear white feathers,
A golden crown
And sit in the clouds

How could you,
Play the slave,
The victim,
The oppressed?

When your the owner,
I, the victim
And you know not the meaning of depressed

Why act so pure when your so evil?

I thought you were a good person
Pretending to be bad,
But, your a just a bad person
Pretending to be good

But I still pray for you my friend
